Nancy Merrill
Nancy Merrill is a lawyer qualified to practice in Ontario as well as in British Columbia. Born in Ontario, she has degrees from the University of Waterloo, the University of Windsor as well as York University, where she obtained a Master's degree with a specialty in Canadian and comparative tax law. She is a practicing member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990. She has worked as a federal prosecutor in Windsor dealing with a variety of matters including customs and immigration. A former Canada Customs Intelligence Officer, she went on to the practice of law and broadened her interests into a number of different fields. She is a qualified family mediator and her practice now includes a strong family law focus plus matters dealing with estates and planning. She regularly appears before the Provincial Court of British Columbia as well as the Supreme Court, dealing with a range of matters. She is a member of the Law Foundation of British Columbia.
Nancy is an active sports enthusiast, a lifetime member of the British Columbia SPCA, an amateur archeology buff and an accomplished international traveler.
Randie Long
Randie Long is a lawyer who is also qualified to practice in both Ontario as well as in British Columbia. He has degrees from the University of Toronto, Carleton University as well as the University of Windsor. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990. A former union representative and community activist associated with Ralph Nader's public interest research group, Randie was a labour law specialist before establishing a broader practice in criminal law and family law. While he still acts as a prosecutor from time to time, the main body of Randie's criminal practice is defense work. With a growing practice in the area of family law, he too has appeared at all levels of Court including appeal work. He too is a certified family law and civil mediator. Randie has also appeared as an advocate before the British Columbia Human Rights Board. He has acted for a number of environmental and community groups, both privately and on behalf of the West Coast Environmental Law Association.
An avid lifetime musician as well as a former radio station manager and on-air show host, Randie has more recently created a focus in the areas of music and entertainment law. He represents a number of artists and musicians.
